Video of the Week October 06, 2006 Posted by Kyle I've decided to add a new addition to Music Bath for at least the month of October - Video of the Week. Music videos are fun, and I often forget that they are out there! A good video can add depth to a song and take it to a new level. I'm starting by posting my top four favorite videos - I was going to do top 5, but I couldn't nail down what #5 would be. I've been thinking about it for the last month and decided to leave spot 5 open for now. 1) Kashmir - Rocket Brothers Watching this video, and the video for Surfing the Warm Industry, is how I fell in love with Kashmir. This video is a perfect story of friendship, jealousy, murder, forgiveness and redemption - in cartoon form. Plus, there is man on robot woman looooove makin' - owww owww! 2) Sigur Ros - Viðrar vel til loftárása It took this video to help me understand Sigur Ros' music. The story is so moving - soaring with happiness at times and descending tragically at other. The story fits the music perfectly - it was like the music was made to score the short film.
Bright Eyes delivers an extremely simple video - people in love listening to their song and reacting to it. Underneath its simplicity is an overwhelming emotion- love comes in different packages and is expressed in many different ways. Love makes you feel like you were just born. The first set of boys makes me all warm inside. Awww. 4) Sarah McLachlan - The World Is On Fire Sarah gives another very simple video. It really hits home how much poverty is in the world that we so easily forget about, and how we have an obligation to help each other. This is probably the only music video that has ever made me tear up... just watch it.
